DUNLAP - Vyrne Geiger Dunlap, 93, 1228 Brentwood Road, Joliet,
formerly of Rockford, died about 2 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 1988, in
Sunny Hill
Nursing Home, Joliet, after a long illness. Born June 1, 1895, in
Burlington,
Iowa, a daughter of Carl and Emma Vollmer. Lived manyyears in
Rockford, coming
here from Davenport, Iowa. Married Albert Geiger. He died in 1959.
She
married Roscoe Dunlap in Davenport in 1972. She was a homemaker.
Member
of Seventh-day Adventist Church, and was organist of the
Davenport church;
member of other church organizations; her life was the church.
Attended
schools in Burlington, Iowa. Survivors include one daughter,
Helen Malik,
Joliet; two sons, Kenneth Geiger and Lawrence Geiger, both of
Rockford; a
stepdaughter, Marion Isaac, Eugene, Ore.; nine grandchildren; 15
great-grand- children. Predeceased by a sister, Opal Spaulding,
and two
brothers, Kenneth and Earl Vollmer.
Memorial services at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Seventh-day Adventist
Church, 444 W. Kimberly, Davenport, Iowa, with Elder Haas
officiating. Burial in
Sunset Memorial Gardens, Loves Park. 11-12-3

DAVENPORT - Vyrne Dunlap, 93, formerly of Davenport, died
Thursday in Sunnyhill Nursing
Home, Joliet, Ill.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Seventh Day Adventist
Church, Davenport.
The body has been cremated.
Mrs. Dunlap had been organist at the church for many years.
Vyrne Vollmer married Rosco Dunlap in 1953 in Davenport.
Memorial may be made to the church.
Haley-Tapala Funeral Home, Joliet, is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Helen Malick, Joliet, sons,
Lawrence
Geiger and Ken Geiger Sr., both of Rockford, Ill.; grandchildren,
including Ken Geiger II, Davenport; and several great-grandchildren.
