Obituary of William Switzer

William Switzer
William L. Switzer, 83, 414 S. 1st St., died at 3:34 a.m. Thursday in St. Anthony hospital after a long illness.
He was born Dec 9, 1874, in Bedford, Mo. He lived 60 years in Rockford, coming here from Iowa.
He married the former Lulu M. Metzger in Dubuque, Ia., Aug. 12, 1939. Mr. Switzer was employed as an assembler by the J. J. Case company for 30 years, retiring in 1953.
Survivors include his widow; four daughters, Mrs. Donna Lou Johnson and Mrs. Esther Dudley, both of Montebello, Cal.; Mrs. Mary Wikse, Puente, Cal.; and Mrs. Dorothy Keef, Rockford; a son, Lawrence, Rockford; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Rose Freeman, Rockford.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Wilbur Christenson funeral home, 926 34rd ave.; with the Rev. Timothy B. Reeves, pastor of Centennial Methodist church, officiating.
Burial will be in Cedar Bluff cemetery. Friends may call int he funeral home from 7 to 8 o'clock Friday night.
