ANGLEMIRE posted by jondonaker@aol.com

Looking for information on the ANGLEMIRE family in Winnebago County. My earliest record is the 1880 census, showing Rob Anglemire and family, from PA. By 1900, there were also another Robert Anglemire(B: 2/1833) and John Anglemire(B:6/1861). How are these people related to Emanuel Anglemire who moved from PA to Will County, IL during the late 1850's? I am a descendant of Emanuel, and am trying to tie the family history together. Will gladly share information. jondonaker@aol.com.

Surname LILLY; JONES; GIFFORD - George Lilly married Marie Jones daughter of Samuel Jones, sister of George Jones. The family lived in Pine Rock Twp. She died after birth of son Sylvester Lilly, about 1853. George then married Mary Gifford at Rockford. Approx. 1860 they moved to Buchanan Co Iowa; about 1869 moved to Adair Co Iowa. George and Mary are buried there. I descent from George and Marie. An obit written by George's daughter states another son Miles died about 8 days after Sylvester was born. There are no cemetery records for Miles. Was he Sylvester's twin or an older brother? George and Mary's descendants are in need of info on the Gifford family also. She married first Stanley?? Smith. I would like to contact other members of this family. George Lilly's father appears to be David Lilly buried at Larabee, Cherokee Co. Iowa. Who are his parents? Larry Parker Mon May 12, 1997-- 9:30 p.m.

I am searching for information on by father, ORIE L. PARKER who lived in Rockford, Illinois from 1921 until 1930. I do know that he was discharged from the Army in Rockford in 1922. I find that he married a Margaret LIGHTFOOT CARR in Freeport, Illinois on 3 March1921. Margaret Carr had been married as Mrs. Lightfoot and had two children listed as Lightfoot.Orie L. Parker was employeed by the Barber-Coleman Company in Loves Park, Illinois as a machinist.Orie L. Parker and Margaret Parker or listed in the City Directory of Rockford as residing first at 713 Green Street in 1923, then 709 Green Streeet in 1925, 1926 at Washington Park, then 1927-28 at 523 Newport Avenue and 1928-29-30 at 604 Sydney Avenue in Loves Park. The 1930 term of Circuit Court has record of an Petition for Divorce and Cross-Bill with final divorce about Jan. 1931.Orie Parker moved to E. St. Louis, Ill and re-married and fathered 4 children and the rest is history of record. I am looking for more on this 10 years in Rockford and what happened to Margaret Lightfoot and the two boys. When Orie L. Parker married the first time the bride listed her name as Margaret Louis McNeal, born in Evansville, Indiana. This Margaret Louise McNeal on the marriage license issued in Stephenson County, Illinois listed her as "miss Louise McNeal age 25 and that this was her first marriage. In the Divorce she states she was formerly Mrs. Carr and before that Mrs. Lightfoot and that the two boys are both Lightfoot and in 1930 the ages are 22 and 19 which would have made them 12 and 10 at the time of marriage to Parker. Orie Parker's wife may be listed as:
Margaret Louis McNeal; or
Louis McNeal; or
Margaret Lightfoot; or
Margaret Carr

Any help is appreciated. Larry Parker -- e-mail to: Trout 103@aol.com

I am doing research on the following names : FLYNN, TURNEIL (not sure of the spelling ) KAVANAUGH and NEWMAN. Kavanaugh who lived in or around Cherry Valley. He met and married one Ellen Turneil ( 1845-1912);my great-grandmother I am not clear as to how her maiden name was spelled; it could be TURNEAL or TURNEILLE The story goes that the Turneil's (?) came to Cherry Valley directly from Ireland My great-great Grandfather Thomas Turneil and my Great-great grandmother Betsy NEWMAN Turneil had fifteen children. Eleven of the children died before they reached adulthood and as the story reads; They were buried side by side I assume in a Catholic cemetery in or near Cherry Valley John K. I am researching the Grummon family and George Homer Grummon is the son of my GG-grandfather, Horace B. Grummon. George Homer is buried in the Belvidere Cemetery and Horace is buried in the Cherry Valley Cemetery, as is Sidney Grummon. I am wondering if there are any inscriptions in the Bible or anything that might tell me Horace's parents names. Thank you for your help and time. Susan Grummon

I am trying to trace the Medhurst family line. I have an old letter from someone who has the first name of Sharon (her maiden name would probably be Dale). It is dated March 17, 1980 and has the return address of 5911 Alma Dr., Rockford. I have no idea if she is still alive. She identifies her parents as Ross Dale and Valerie Moore. I imagine she can be identified in the 1980 city directory. Or I would be interested in communicating with anyone else working on the Medhurst family (The Medhursts came to Warren Co. IL in about 1842 from New York State (Seneca or Ontario Co.). Sharon claims in her letter to have considerable information. I will be happy to reimburse you for any expense.
